Set Attainable Goals For Success!

weight lossSo many people try and start a physical transformation with the wrong intentions and unrealistic goals.  Diets and New Year’s Resolutions don’t work because most people don’t stay committed to the right goals.  Remember “FITNESS IS A LIFESTYLE,” it is not a sometimes thing, it is an all the time thing.  You have to change your life in order to change the way you feel and look.  If you start your journey with only trying to lose the extra 40 pounds you are carrying around and that is it, well you are finished before you started.  You can’t just focus on the weight or the numbers on the scale to measure your success.  Making constant changes and reaching small goals will keep you motivated and on track.  Your focus should not be losing the weight, but becoming a healthier person inside and out. 

FORGET THE SCALE: The scale is not how you measure your fitness and health achievements.  Everyone’s body is different and responds differently to exercise and food, so don’t focus on the scale.  You should be focused on how your clothes are fitting, how you are sleeping, your bowel movements, what your skin looks like, your blood pressure, your cholesterol, and how much energy you have.  These are the things that are going to make you a healthier person.  The scale will only frustrate you into giving up, and falling back on old habits.  Take before and after pictures, and measurements of your body parts to track your success.  If your focus is on these things instead of just the weight you will have a much higher success rate.

SET ATTAINABLE GOALS:  What can you do today that you couldn’t do yesterday?  Set that as a goal and you will benefit much more from an approach like this.  If you can doing something today that you couldn’t yesterday you will have a feeling of accomplishment and this will keep you happy and motivated.  Using this method you will reach you goal before you know it without ever adding extra stress to your life.  Enjoy the process and be happy with the small achievements you make daily.  The more success you have the more likely you will be to keep the journey going. 

NEVER GIVE UP! You will have good days and bad days, but the important thing is that you never give up.  Making changes is not easy for anyone, but the reward of getting your health and life back will make it all worth it!  Remember if it was easy, everyone would do it.
